Hi, my name is Maya. It’s pronounced ‘May Uh’, which is not the traditional pronunciation, so it tends to throw people for a loop. No worries though, I don’t have an uptight bone in my body so you can call me whatever you like…. just call me and we will take it from there!
One of my earliest memories is careening over the old red bridge in my mom’s VW bug as she sped from Rumford to the East Side to show a house. The only child of a Real Estate Broker and a Traveling Salesman, I was Mom’s wingman and I took my job very seriously. We drove all over Rhode Island, sometimes in matching outfits, frequently exceeding the speed limit, and always singing along to the crackly music on the radio. Mom eventually changed careers but my love of houses and the thrill of matching a house with its ideal occupants endured.
Flash forward and I’m still blasting those same Vietnam War Era songs in my own (less cool) VW as I traverse the state, in my glory, finally back to matching people and houses again after 30 years working in human services, raising our 5 children while fostering a bunch of others, and caring for my aging parents.
The skills I honed while doing the above are priceless when it comes to helping my clients buy and sell homes. Real estate is as much (if not more) about people as it is about property. It’s about listening to exactly what my clients want and working tirelessly to deliver. It’s about answering every question, seeking out every necessary resource, communicating clearly and with regularity, and building a trusting relationship that can last a lifetime.
In short, my love of people, houses, and the art and science of matching the two to create a home has endured throughout my life. I’d love for you and your home to become part of my story.
What’s your story? I can’t wait to hear it!

Like Maya, I have called Rhode Island home my whole life. I grew up on a cul-de-sac in Smithfield and spent my childhood running around with my three siblings and our neighborhood friends. I also spent a lot of my life on the baseball diamond. From an early age, I knew the importance of creating community and being a member of a team. This made me a team player and someone who knows how to support people well.
With a graduate degree in psychology, a J.D., and over 20 years of legal experience, I understand the ins and outs of contracts, negotiations, and interpersonal communication. Throughout my career, I have transitioned from working as a behavioral psychologist for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to working as an attorney in family and corporate law. While these jobs may seem dissimilar at first glance, they all require the ability to read people and anticipate their unique needs. Real estate is no different.
Maya and I prioritize building a relationship with you, recognizing that we have to work as a team to find your dream home or help you sell a home you’ve outgrown. I also bring personal and professional experience with divorce and understand how to handle both the legal and emotional impacts of the process with empathy and expertise.
Buying and selling a home can be tricky. It can often feel like there are endless setbacks and hoops to jump through. As your broker, I am here to handle those speed bumps for you, but I also promise to keep you informed and never compromise your position as the most important voice in the room. Like I said, I am a team player through and through. When you choose to work with Fair Winds, you are joining our team, and we will be ready to meet your goals together.
